Jordan Kyrou Reflects on Time with Former Blues Coach Craig Berube

Kyrou Remembers Berube as a Tough but Fair Coach

In the wake of Craig Berube's firing as head coach of the St. Louis Blues, winger Jordan Kyrou has shared his memories of the coach who led the team to its first Stanley Cup in 2019.

"Berube was a tough coach, but he was also fair," Kyrou said. "He always had our backs, and he always wanted us to be the best that we could be."

Kyrou recalled a specific instance where Berube's tough love helped him to improve his game. "I was struggling at the beginning of last season, and Berube called me into his office," Kyrou said. "He told me that I needed to be better, and he wasn't going to sugarcoat it."

"I took his words to heart, and I worked hard to improve my game," Kyrou continued. "By the end of the season, I was one of the most productive players on the team."

Kyrou Thanks Berube for His Support

Despite Berube's firing, Kyrou remains grateful for the coach's support and guidance.

"I want to thank Berube for everything he's done for me," Kyrou said. "He helped me become the player I am today, and I wish him all the best in the future."

Kyrou's comments reflect the high regard in which Berube is held by his former players. Berube was known for his demanding style, but he was also respected for his fairness and his ability to get the most out of his players.

Berube was fired by the Blues on Tuesday after six seasons with the team. The Blues have struggled this season, and Berube's firing is seen as an attempt to shake things up.

Kyrou and the Blues will hope to turn things around under new head coach John Tortorella. Tortorella is known for his fiery personality, and he will likely demand a lot from his players.

But if Kyrou's comments are any indication, the Blues players are ready to embrace Tortorella's challenge.
